2023 Unlock Net Zero Live Awards Winner - Innovation of the year, energy provision - Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team
The Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team were announced as winners of the Innovation of the year for energy provision category for their Goodbye Gas programme at the first Unlock Net Zero Live Awards.
Announced at a ceremony held at Housing 2023 and hosted by Unlock Net Zero ambassador Kunle Barker, this category recognised innovation and new approaches across a number of streams, in this instance the provision of energy. Entrants were asked to clearly demonstrate how their innovation had made a positive impact in helping to reduce carbon emissions.
Commenting on the Goodbye Gas programme, the judges said:
"We were really impressed by the holistic approach to both cultural and financial sensitives in the design and delivery of this project. They use a comprehensive method to measure the direct and indirect carbon emissions savings, placing this work as an exemplar on delivering net zero homes. The project team has also gone above and beyond to share best practice and learning from their work."
