The Luton energy-efficiency measures programme which was delivered for Luton Borough Council by Equans Regeneration and Michael Dyson Associates was named as the Collaboration of the year, home upgrade at the first Unlock Net Zero Live Awards.
Announced at a ceremony held at Housing 2023 and hosted by Unlock Net Zero ambassador Kunle Barker, this category recognised projects that have demonstrated tangible outcomes due to the collaboration of all parties. In this instance it was for work on the upgrading of homes.
The judges said of the winning entry:
"We were astonished at the scale of this project – to achieve such an impressive outcome with highly satisfied residents is no small feat. This project demonstrated significant collaboration between both the supply chain and residents – as well as deep and broad engagement with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders. It has clearly made a positive impact on the local community and makes Luton Council a real leader when it comes to delivering net zero."
Highly commended in this category was the South Lakes Housing project at Lune Walk, Halton with the judges commenting how they were impressed by the real mix of expertise, enthusiasm and collaborative willingness in the project by all parties.
