Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and their Decarbonising the NHS project was named as Collaboration of the year, energy projects at the first Unlock Net Zero Live Awards.
Announced at a ceremony held at Housing 2023 and hosted by Unlock Net Zero ambassador Kunle Barker, this category recognised projects that demonstrated tangible outcomes due to the collaboration of all parties. Due to the number of nominations, this category recognised winners for energy projects, home upgrades and knowledge building and research.
Explaining the reason why the Trust won, the judges said:
"This project is a great example of a public-private sector partnership delivering real tangible benefits for people and the environment, whilst accumulating knowledge to allow the approach to be replicable."
Highly commended in this category was the Leeds PIPES project delivered by Vital Energi and Leeds City Council, with the judges again recognising the value of true public-private sector partnership to benefit wider society.
