We start our profile of winners of the 2024 Unlock Net Zero Awards with our Green Homes Upgrade of the Year category.
This category recognised the excellent retrofit work that is underway across the UK. Because of the volume of entries and high-quality work on display we recognised efforts across three geographical locations. The first was for work undertaken across Central and East of England.
Our judges selected Lincolnshire Housing Partnership and E.ON as the winners, for their work on a Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund programme of work.
Commenting on their entry, our judges said:
“The type of housing construction here is a difficult housing typology to retrofit but Lincolnshire Housing Partnership have succeeded. If this housing typology can be retrofitted, they can retrofit anything. We were also impressed by the engagement strategy with tenants.”
The judges also commended the work of the Kensa Group and their retrofit of a 1960’s Tower Block in Thurrock.
