Derek Horrocks and Shiri Atsmon were named as Climate Champions of the Year at the Unlock Net Zero Awards.
Derek who is chair of Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd was named champion for the private sector with our judging panel commenting:
“He is a respected industry leader in decarbonisation with a passion for improving the sustainability of UK homes. He established the National Home Decarbonisation Group and actively engages with government and contributes his time to developing new standards and improvements in the sector.”

For the public and third sector the award went to Shiri Atsmon of Our Home Our Planet CIC. The judges said of Shiri:
“Shiri deserves recognition for taking on a programme outside of her day job as a volunteer and inspiring and influencing a substantial network on her own account with tangible biodiversity outcomes. By taking awareness into local schools, she helps influence behaviour within the home.”
