At Mears, we are working with a number of Local Authority client partners that are embracing the Government’s drive around ‘place based’ net zero improvements.
These conversations are examining how the role of a Local Authority can be the conduit towards bringing together Social Landlords, Private Landlords and Owner Occupiers to have a ‘community by community’ approach, to improving the energy performance of homes.
As housing experts, Mears are integral in supporting these conversations. We currently look after over 500,000 social homes across the UK and are retrofitting over 4,000 homes in an early trial to monitor the positive impacts that these changes can make towards the Net Zero agenda. We also work to provide vital support for customers facing high energy bills in the current economic climate.
Working collaboratively across the sector is vital for us to move forward with the Net Zero agenda, and we see the Cities campaign as an important element of this activity.
