The Greener Futures Partnership Decarbonisation Delivery framework

Abri are working towards making all their homes energy efficient and fit for the future by ensuring as many as possible of the homes that they own and manage reach a rating of EPC C by 2030.

The framework has been established to enable delivery of works supported by the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

To allow Abri to meet this target, they are in the process of carrying out energy efficient measures to their homes that are currently below an EPC band C. They acknowledge this is a big task, so, as a founding member of the Greener Futures Partnership (GFP), they are working alongside four other housing associations to tackle the challenge together.

The GFP, consisting of Abri, Anchor, Home Group, Hyde Group and Sanctuary, represents over 600,000 customers in 300,000 homes – that’s around 9% of the total social housing market. Their purpose is to improve the energy efficiency and affordability of their homes and to create a sector-leading approach to sustainability.

To put this into action, they have worked with Echelon Consultancy to develop the Greener Futures Partnership Decarbonisation Delivery framework. 

What is the Greener Futures Partnership Decarbonisation Delivery framework?

The framework has been designed to enable organisations, both big and small, to deliver a full range of retrofit works. Covering England, Wales and Scotland, it can also be used by external housing providers and Contracting Authorities.

It is split into three workstreams, two delivering construction works across different value bands and one delivering professional services, covering all roles specified under PAS 2035. These are then broken down further into regional Lots, giving coverage across England and Wales and there is a separate parallel framework for Scotland.

Alongside the framework, GFP will soon be creating a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for emerging technology and materials to support the delivery of the wider decarbonisation construction work. 

How long does the framework last?

The framework will span a total of seven years: an initial four year term with options to extend for a further three, to enable delivery of the works supported by the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).
