The investment in green technology is part of a wider push by Nationwide Platforms to reduce its carbon footprint and work more sustainably – more than 900 of the 1100 machines in the recent investment programme are either electric or hybrid.

This investment means that the business is well equipped to meet the needs of customer requirements, whether that is scissor lifts or another machine from its range, including boom lifts and low-level access platforms. Nationwide Platforms covers a huge variety of operational capabilities for working at different heights, on different terrain, indoors or outdoors, with diesel, electric or hybrid propulsion options.

Also new to the company’s delivery fleet are nine 32-tonne rigid trucks and 19 44-tonne tractors, with the latest Euro 6 engines, and 27 trailers, improving safety, delivery reliability and emissions output.

Glyn Brearley, business director for procurement, external training & BlueSky Solutions commented:

“The new scissor lifts are fantastic machines, and we cannot wait for customers to try them. The fact the majority are either electric or hybrid is testament to the green technology being developed in the industry, meaning we are able to transform our fleet and minimise its carbon footprint.

“We have continued to invest and innovate to ensure our customers have access to the latest selection of environmentally friendly platforms on the market.”
